Not another flashcard app.
A rehearsal for the real thing.

Every detail mirrors the actual naturalization interview — so test day feels like just another practice run.

Real interview rules

The officer stops at 12 correct or 9 wrong — so does our mock exam. You'll know exactly when you're ready, not just how many cards you've flipped.

An officer reads aloud

Every question is spoken in a natural US English voice, just like the oral exam. Train your ears, not just your eyes.

Both tests, auto-matched

Filed N-400 before or after Oct 20, 2025? We cover both the 128-question 2025 test and the 100-question 2008 test.

Memory tips for every question

All 228 questions come with a mnemonic — number anchors, word tricks, vivid images — so answers stick the first time.

A Wrong Book that fights back

Every miss is captured, analyzed by topic, and drilled until you win it back. Weakness has nowhere to hide.

Study in your language

Español, 中文, Tiếng Việt, Tagalog, and हिन्दी — full translations of every question and answer. Study in yours, answer in English.

65/20 senior mode

Age 65+ with 20 years as a permanent resident? Study only the 20 starred questions — and take the interview in your own language.

Never outdated

Answers that change with elections — President, Speaker, your Governor — are never hardcoded. We point you to the official USCIS update page.

Private by design

No login screen. No analytics. No ads. Your study data never leaves your phone — we couldn't see it if we wanted to.

Serious preparation, friendly experience.

Confidence grows one screen at a time.

Three steps to a confident yes.

A few minutes a day is all it takes.

1

Study smart

Flip flashcards with translations and memory tips. A daily reminder keeps the streak alive.

2

Rehearse the interview

Take mock exams under real USCIS rules, with the officer's voice asking every question out loud.

3

Clear your Wrong Book

Win back every missed question until nothing is left — then walk in and pass for real.

Made for the many, in many tongues.

Full translations of every official question and answer.

A letter to you, inside the app.

"There is no company behind this app. No investors, no growth targets, no dashboard watching what you do. It was made the way you'd make something for a friend — with care, and with the hope that it genuinely helps. On the day you raise your right hand and take the Oath, this little app will have been a tiny part of your story. That's all the reward it needs."

Questions, answered.

Which test will I take — 2025 or 2008?

If you filed Form N-400 on or after October 20, 2025, you take the 2025 test (128 questions; up to 20 asked, 12 to pass). If you filed before that date, you take the 2008 test (100 questions; up to 10 asked, 6 to pass). Civics Prep covers both — pick your version once and everything adapts.

Is the content really accurate?

Every question and answer is taken word-for-word from official USCIS study materials, which are U.S. government works in the public domain. Answers that change with elections are never hardcoded — the app points you to the official USCIS update page so you never study an outdated name.

Is it really free?

Every official question and every study tool you see today is free, and will stay free. If optional extras ever appear, nothing you already have will be taken away.

Does it work offline?

Yes. All questions, translations, and memory tips are on your device. Study on the subway, on a plane, anywhere.

Is this an official USCIS app?

No. Civics Prep is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to USCIS or any government agency.
